Bergschanke Zum Katzenstein in Marienberg

A cozy restaurant furnished with a lot of love. Very tasty and traditional food. We'd love to come back. Pre-orders would be advantageous, because what is very good gets around.

Getzen2go, venison sausage and mulled wine are recommended. A very nice landlady. Before doing this, you should hike along the wonderful Grüner Graben.

Clear selection, very tasty food, chocolate espresso from the portafilter, friendly staff. You always like to come back here. With Specht's beer alone, it would be nice if the country beer or export were also on offer. After all, you are practically in southern Germany here. ;-)

Culinary surprise in the afternoon! After an extensive hike in the Katzenstein area, we were almost on our way back to the neighborhood when the dishes in front of the Bergschänke made us curious. On the spur of the moment, we entered the small, rustic dining room. A women's Kaffe Kränzchen group just praised the homemade cake. Since we wanted a "real" meal after the hike, we asked the friendly landlady. 1st surprise: warm meals throughout 2nd surprise: menu with typical Erzgebirge dishes but also dishes from the gourmet kitchen 3. Surprise: everything was absolutely delicious and tastefully presented 4. Surprise: price-performance ratio very consistent So: garlic soup, pikeperch on balsamic lentils, the salad and my sponge bread (mushrooms) with fried eggs. We will definitely be back soon and have reported to our friends. After dinner, you can take a short walk from the Gasthaus zum Katzenstein and back at the "Grünen Graben". Unfortunately no longer an insider tip ... The food is always delicious, but that the restaurant is packed and the air is so thick, there is hardly any distance from other, foreign guests and you pretend that there is currently no corona risk ... and almost 2 hours then having to wait for the meal is almost irresponsible.

After a long hike, we needed reinforcements. Nice service, delicious food, wonderful view, idyllic location, gladly again!

Always beautiful. Simple menu, but it tastes great. Exceptional wine list. Finally no pop fumble, but guitar sounds and the friendly service complete the picture.

We built the stopover into one of the many possible hikes. Announced by phone on the way, the reserved table awaited us in the rustic beer garden. The potato salad made by the boss was very tasty and wonderfully light in the heat. The local sausages were a hit. To say goodbye, the nice landlord played the piano himself. Unfortunately we cannot rate the food as it was closed today. Respect, vacation in the holiday season you have to have to afford gastronomy in the holiday area. I am pleased that the operators have got through Corona so well that they do not need my talers.

It's just always wonderful on top of the mountain in Pobershau. And in the Bergschänke you always feel welcome, great hosts. And the food - a real treat. We checked out this restaurant prior to our hike. We can not rate the food, since we did not get this far ... When asked for a table, we were pushed out (yes, you can not describe it that way) with the wording "everything occupied"! Incredibly rude ... too bad, because the card made a good impression! Maybe you don't want any guests ???? Unfortunately, the tone of the answer corresponds almost exactly to the level with which we were confronted ... Thank you 😉

You can't find a better place to end a beautiful day. Thanks to the team for the delicious food and the spontaneous music. It was perfect .

Extremely cozy guesthouse with great atmosphere, delicious food and nice hostess. Absolute recommendation. At Christmas time there is a pyramid on every table.

The excellent kitchen and the very nice staff characterize this restaurant. Add to that the beautiful view and the cozy garden. If the food is fresh and the staff is as comfortable as the decor, it can take a minute longer than other restaurants. But that's exactly what makes the Bergschänke. Clear recommendation for lunch or dinner.
